Regarding Ewan McGregor’s highly anticipated return as a famous Jedi, Harold says the series will explore how Obi-Wan transforms from the man we see in the prequels to Sir Alec Guinness’ version in A new hope.

“Obi-Wan is defined by his past to a pretty great extent,” he continued. “We meet a man who is very defined by this story, whether he likes it or not.

“Part of the journey of what he’s going through is reconciling that past and understanding it and understanding his place in it. And that journey and the places he has to go emotionally as well as physically, and some of those battles that he has to fight, have a lot to do with coming to terms with that past and understanding who he was, his role in his own history, in the history of others.”

the Obi Wan Kenobi The TV series will premiere on May 27, 2022 for streaming on Disney+.
