In a later tweet, the writer tweeted, “For anyone who thinks they’re smart in mentioning I own an iPhone: Capitalism often puts us in a corner and forces us to choose between various bad options, but unlike me, I need a smartphone of some kind of work, no one needs some entertainment.

Cooper doesn’t elaborate on why he accuses people of transphobia if they play Hogwarts Legacy, but it more than likely has to do with Harry Potter creator JK Rowling’s stance on sex and gender.

In a blog post shared on her website in June 2020, Rowling explained her reasons for speaking out on sex and gender issues.

Detailing one of her reasons, she wrote: “I am concerned about the huge explosion of young women wanting to transition and also the increasing number of women who seem to be de-transitioning (returning to their original gender), for they regret having taken measures which have, in some cases, irrevocably altered their bodies and taken away their fertility.

“Some say they decided to transition after realizing they were same-sex attracted, and that the transition was partly driven by homophobia, either in society or in their family,” said she added.

Elaborating on this point, Rowling would also write: “I have read all the arguments that femininity does not reside in the gendered body, and the assertions that biological women do not have common experiences, and I also find them deeply misogynistic. and regressive.

“It is also clear that one of the purposes of denying the importance of sex is to erode what some seem to see as the cruelly segregationist idea of women having their own biological realities or – equally threatening – unifying realities that make it a cohesive political class,” she said.

She would later write: “But, as many women before me have said, ‘woman’ is not a costume. ‘Woman’ is not an idea in a man’s head. ‘Woman’ is not a pink brain, a fondness for Jimmy Choos or any of the other sexist ideas now presented as progressive.

“Furthermore, the ‘inclusive’ language that calls women ‘menstruating’ and ‘people with vulvas’ strikes many women as dehumanizing and demeaning,” she said. “I understand why trans activists consider this language to be appropriate and kind, but for those of us who have had demeaning insults hurled at us by violent men, it’s not neutral, it’s hostile and alienating. “

He wrote, “Let’s not throw cis white men on stuff for a year and see what happens. Just for fun.”
