FARMINGTON — The acclaimed guest writer series from the University of Maine at Farmington features fiction writer Gregory Brown as the popular program’s season finale.
Brown will read from her Maine-based debut novel at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at The Landing at UMF Olsen Student Center. The reading is free and open to the public and will be followed by a signing session with the author.

Brown’s debut novel, “The Lowering Days” (HarperCollins), set in 1980s Maine, explores family, the power of myths, and the exploitation of the environment in powerful, poetic prose.
His work has also appeared in Green Mountain Review, Alaska Quarterly Review, and Tin House, among others, and is the recipient of Narrative Magazine’s 30 Below Award.
He graduated from Columbia University and earned his MFA from the Iowa Writers Workshop.
