Famed LA Angels beat writer announces new book about Shohei Ohtani’s GOAT season

LA Angels Orange County Register beat writer Jeff Fletcher has announced he’s releasing his new book; Sho-time: The Inside Story of Shohei Ohtani and the greatest baseball season ever played.

His book will of course relate what happened with Ohtani and this last season in particular. Interestingly, it will even go beyond that too. here is from his Amazon book description:

“Along the way, Fletcher will detail other players who have made it to the big leagues from Japan, how Ohtani brought his phenomenal talent to the game at a time when technology is exploding as a means of maximizing performance, and the role that Ohtani and his otherworldly teammate Mike Trout is playing to help lead baseball into the next generation.”

The book will include a foreword by Angels Manager Joe Maddon.

As a fan of the LA Angels and Shohei Ohtani, I will absolutely buy this book. Last year was my first season with the Angels. I was mesmerized by what Ohtani was doing right back and forth.

He was my AL MVP pick since I took over this site, and I got to see the whole season go the way it did. His season was hailed as the greatest season in sports history because he was more than just an elite hitter and pitcher. He was also an outfielder for the Halos and was named the fastest base runner in the American League according to his peers.

Ohtani hit 46 homers while driving 100 RBIs (from both holes) and scoring 103 runs. He also recorded a 3.18 ERA, 1.090 ERA, and 141+ ERA. The first player to start the All-Star Game as a starting pitcher and starting DH, Ohtani did what this game never thought could be done.

Following. 6 LA Angels moves that worked really well. dark

This book will surely give the unanimous 2021 AL MVP the respect he deserves. Baseball was supposed to die last year, but Ohtani and the hype behind the man proved the sport had other plans.
