Donald Glover hires Malia Obama as screenwriter for new show

Donald Glover has hired Malia Obama as a screenwriter for his upcoming show about a “Beyonce” type character, Vanity Fair reports.

Glover, also known as rapper Childish Gambino, told the outlet that he enlisted the help of Obama’s eldest daughter for an Amazon television series potentially titled “Hive.”

“She’s just like an incredibly talented person,” Glover said of the 23-year-old Harvard grad former first daughter. “She’s really focused and she works really hard.”

Glover, the creator of the FX series “Atlanta,” praised Obama’s writing style, saying she likely has a successful career in Hollywood ahead of her.

“I feel like she’s just someone who’s going to have some really good stuff soon,” he said.

Obama has previously worked in showbiz, including as an intern on the HBO series “Girls” and as a production assistant on Halle Berry’s show “Extant,” Vanity Fair notes.
